Hello!
Everyone finds themselves in need of help or support at some point or another in life. My practice will serve as a safe and supportive space to work on the needs that you identify. I am passionate about helping people to identify their needs and learn how to empower themselves to make the desired changes that they are looking for. We will search for your own personal accountability and how to take the steps to create the life changes that you are searching for.
I began my training at Florida State University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1995. I followed that by earning my Master's Degree in Social Work at Columbia University in 1997. I have been working in the mental health field since 1995 providing individual, marital, family and group therapy to a very diverse population. I have worked in community mental health, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, school systems, military bases, and in private practice. I have a wide range of experience ranging from adjustment issues in life to severe mental illness. I have a respect for all individuals and the struggles that they are facing. I can promise you that you will not be judged and will be treated with respect.
While I work with a wide variety of clinical issues, I have developed a passion for working with women's issues, life changes and young adult life transitions. I have a great deal of experience working with the military community and am very sensitive to the unique challenges that this community faces. In addition to these issues mentioned I have a great deal of experience working with depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, marital problems, parenting issues, personality disorders, severe and persistent mental illness, trauma and suicide. I work with clients age 13+.
I am truly passionate about helping people and feel privileged to be allowed to enter in to the lives of people to assist in their transitions. I am very sensitive and dedicated to your confidentiality. I strive to provide a very supportive environment where you can feel that you can say anything without fearing any negative judgment. I believe that the connection and trust between the client and therapist is key to success in therapy.
